A new study has shown that obese people find it hard to resist high-calorie foods because “circulating glucose modulates neural stimulatory and inhibitory control over food motivation and this glucose-linked restraining influence is lost in obesity.” (The Journal of Clinical Investigation). That is, falling and rising blood sugar levels have different effects on obese people and people with normal BMI.
